Advantages of DOMUSplus Energy Efficient Prefabricated Construction

Energy Efficiency

Nowadays, when traditional energy sources are becoming increasingly expensive and when regular monthly utilities expenses have become a heavy weight around the neck of an average family’s budget, it is important to know that in comparison to standard brick houses, DOMUSplus energy efficient houses consume up to 5 times less energy for heating and cooling. That means that monthly public utility fees of our investors are significantly lower.

Speed of Construction

Speed of construction is one of our main advantages. According to good engineering and operating practices, the construction of a traditional brick house should last for 8–12 months, while the construction of a DOMUSplus energy efficient house is assembled in ONE DAY, and complete works up to moving in last for approx. 2 months.

Environmental Awareness

The materials we use for manufacturing and construction are healthy, natural, and environmentally friendly which, in addition to significant reduction in environment pollution, enables for a healthy, quality and comfortable living in our houses. Of course, the entire process from material selection to construction, recycling and disposal of residue which is basically non-existent in DOMUSplus construction, is strictly controlled and improved daily.

Controlled Manufacturing Conditions

We pay great attention to manufacture of structural elements which is carried out in controlled conditions of our production hall. The entire hall is insulated and built according to high standards. Two main production processes are the manufacture of walls and trussed rafters.

Earthquake Resistance

Prefabricated, i.e. wooden houses, have a significantly smaller surface mass than brick houses, so they are several times more resistant to earthquakes. Wood, as the construction material, is much more elastic than brick and concrete, and that’s the reason it behaves “better” during an earthquake, and is a very good material in the sense of earthquake protection.

Fire Resistance

The materials we use as lining layers of wooden load bearing elements are categorised as “non-combustible” or “poorly combustible”. Contrary to popular belief, wood is a very valuable material in terms of fire protection. Namely, concrete breaks under high temperature, steel loses its stability due to bending and twisting, while wood creates a protection layer which prevents oxygen inlet and burning of the wood so that it only smoulders, while statically it remains stable for a longer time.

Individual Approach

To enable our investors to move into their dream home, tailor-made to their wishes and adapted to their lifestyle, we approach each project individually. In other words, in addition to typical and standardized projects, we also offer the possibility of creating a unique project tailored to your wishes!

Dry Construction

Since only “dry” and healthy materials are used in the construction of energy efficient DOMUSplus houses, the possibility of humidity, wet and mouldy stains is eliminated, thus ensuring long-term comfort of living with a regulated micro climate of the space.

Durability

The durability of the building is determined by quality construction and regular maintenance. The useful life of the structure is the period during which the behaviour and properties of the building remain preserved at a level consistent with the fulfilment of essential requirements. With regular maintenance, the durability of prefabricated buildings can be 150 years or more, and in this respect, they are also comparable to traditional construction.
